A professional traveller and a long-time Vespa enthusiast meet up: the former a resident of the Langhe by adoption and the latter a genuine Turin born and bred inhabitant. Together they decided to combine the professionalism of one with the passion of the other coming up with the idea of offering a new, different and alternative form of travel:

Tour in Vespa

TourinVespa, or Tour in Vespa, which is maybe clearer is based on experiencing life in the territory from the majestic Savoy capital to the spectacular Piedmontese hills as you have never done before. For now let’s start with Piedmont and see where our legendary Vespa leads us: in our opinion it will be towards infinity and beyond.

You will discover the territory in total relaxation, safety and freedom when going on the tour alone or in the company of our highly competent guide when opting for the guided tours.

We are already revving up the engines of our Vespas, why not join us?  Are you ready to get into gear, accelerate and head off in search of Great Beauty?  It will be amazing:  you will travel through the centuries from one end of the city to the other under the welcoming eyes of the Savoy sovereigns and the artists who served them. You will gain first hand knowledge of the variety of different nuances of the Turin soul and be seduced by its culinary pleasures

When the intense perfume of Barolo, the Wine of the Kings and the King of Wine becomes an impelling temptation, your travel destination will be the heart of the Provincia Granda: the Langhe, UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You will pass through postcard style landscapes with vast expanses of vineyards for as far as the eye can see.  You will also travel though the most beautiful villages in Italy each with its own castle or fortress high up on the hill and enjoy the beautiful views which are panoramic points of excellence.  And at the end, jump off your Vespa and partake of the excellence of the wine and food of these enchanting places.

However, begin by getting to know the creators of Tour in Vespa better before putting on your helmet:

Luca, the traveller.

To introduce himself, Luca has chosen a phrase from one of the greatest Piedmontese and Italian writers, Cesare Pavese, who said: “I believed for a long time that the country where I was born was the whole world. Now that I have really seen the world and know it is made up of many small countries, I don’t know if I got it all wrong when I was a boy”

After 15 years of travelling around on planes, trains and in cars both for work and pleasure, Luca has truly seen the world and understood one thing:  that the “world of his childhood” still is incredibly beautiful yet hasn’t been recognised as such by others. Namely, for those arriving from other parts of the world.

What is his world? The Langhe.

The Langhe and its intertwining peasant and food and wine cultures. The Langhe and its charming landscapes perfectly come together with Luca’s other great passion, travelling on two wheels.  For him it is synonymous with freedom and pleasure

He can’t wait to share everything he knows about this territory with you and ensure that you taste what is considered “a great little delicacy” of these lands: the Moscato, about which he is great connoisseur.  In fact, it can be drunk not just with dessert but also as an aperitif.

Diego, the Vespa Enthusiast.

On his LX125 Vespa he has done almost 20 thousand kilometres and has no intention of stopping.  Sunshine, rain or snow – it doesn’t matter to him.  What is important is jumping on his Vespa and setting off.

In this way Diego has been able to combine his two passions:  the Vespa and his city, Turin. In 2016 he set up his own blog “Torino in Vespa” in order to recount stories of his city on his fiery red Vespa.

Then he met Luca and came up with a qualitative leap, that of a Tour in Vespa. This is a passion to which he has added his third passion, wine, and especially Roero wine of which he has an in-depth knowledge.

With his wife Elena, he loves to cook and travel and can’t wait to take his son Jacopo on the back of his Vespa. What is his favourite quote when speaking about the Vespa?  “The Vespa isn’t a scooter, the Vespa is the Vespa”.
