Reach the Castello di San Gaudenzio, a historic residence immersed in greenery, with an elegant and intimate atmosphere that immediately introduces you to the character of Oltrepò. Here you can pick up your Vespa and begin your itinerary.
Your first stop is Fortunago, a characteristic village whose charm lies above all in the details: stone houses, flowered balconies, and narrow streets that follow the profile of the hill. From this location, wrapped in an atmosphere almost suspended in time, the view opens onto the entire Alpine arc, up to the imposing profile of Monte Rosa.
Borgoratto Mormorolo is less "monumental" and, for this very reason, interesting. Here you can sense the more rural Oltrepò, made of small inhabited clusters, ridgeline roads, fields, and vineyards that alternate with woods. Rather than a long visit, it is a stage to be experienced in motion, ideal for enjoying the perfect landscape between the villages and the more open hills of the itinerary.
Drive to Montalto Pavese, where the landscape becomes the protagonist. The village occupies an elevated position and offers wide views over the vine-covered hills of Oltrepò: this stop perfectly combines history, vineyards, and great horizons. You will also stop at Costa del Vento, above Montalto Pavese: undoubtedly one of the most evocative panoramic points in Oltrepò. The ridge remains open and breezy, with a very wide view that runs over the hills, vineyards, and Monte Rosa.
Moving to Calvignano, you will see how the landscape speaks above all of wine. The small village is surrounded by rows of vines and gentle hills that change color with the seasons, offering one of the most typical views of Oltrepò Pavese.
Before heading back, you will come across the Giant Bench 149 Travaglino, which will offer you one last panoramic point where you can relax and take beautiful photos.
Return to Castello di San Gaudenzo to return the Vespa by 7:00 PM.
